This participatory workshop follows the February 2009, VCH Aboriginal Cross Cultural and Inclusion Forum and will continue to inform a system transformation process by increasing cultural competency and responsiveness of VCH staff to Aboriginal clients’ health care needs.

The goal is also to support the inclusion of Aboriginal perspectives and lived experiences within the organization. The outcome of the training will be culturally aware health staff working in partnership with Aboriginal communities and engaged in ongoing personal and professional cross cultural development.

Warriors Against Violence is a program that works towards ending family violence in the aboriginal community–by seeking the roots of violence through sharing and teaching, in order to bring healing and peace.

The APN Program helps aboriginal people receiving patient care, to understand the services available to them, and to navigate the healthcare system in a culturally appropriate manner.
