The devastation in Stanley Park from the December 2006 windstorms dismayed many. The Stanley Park Environmental Art Project was developed in response to this. Six selected artists worked with ecologists and park stewards for two years to complete ephemeral and then semi-permanent artworks in the park. Created from natural materials, these works are gradually decomposing back into the ecosystem.
